Dr. Ghumman is one of the few Orthodontists providing comprehensive Early Preventative Treatment towards Children and Teens. His background stems from treating multifaceted complicated cases in Adults with severe temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) and neuromuscular symptoms through advanced orthodontic techniques and Invisalign. Recognizing the difficulties many of these individuals have lived with he helped to pioneer a multi-specialty approach to Early Preventative Treatment to help prevent many of the issues others have been faced with by previous Orthodontic treatment utilizing dated treatment modalities.
He has an extensive background in airway assessments, 3D Cone Beam technology, In-Ovation Self-ligation, Damon Self-ligation, GAC MTM lingual braces, Invisalign and Invisalign Teen systems.
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Dr. Ghumman completed his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Calgary. He then received a full academic scholarship to attend Howard University in Washington, DC where he graduated summa cum laude and ranked first in his graduating class to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He then furthered his studies by completing a top tier General Practice Residency at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut and subsequently completed three additional years at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he earned his Certificate in Orthodontics.
Dr. Ghumman has received a number academic accolades such as the National Society of Alpha Omega Scholarship Award, Howard University Trustee Scholarship, Collegiate All-American Scholar and many more. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is an active member of the Ontario Association of Orthodontics, Canadian Association of Orthodontists, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is also Certified by the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy.
When Dr. Ghumman is not practicing Orthodontics he spends his time taking numerous continuing education courses in the areas of Light-Wire Orthodontics, Early Preventative Treatment, Functional Orthodontics, Sleep-Disorders and Neuromuscular Dentistry.
